All Japan Tag Team Titles

Long, excellent classic All Japan style tag team title match.  This was like four Tomohiro Ishiis against each other, and the result was a stiff, strong style display of chops, forearm blows, and suplexes that built towards big moves to the finish as the crowd was in a frenzy.  And of course the obligatory pop for the title change.

Since Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi) were going over, they sold most of the match.  This was Sekimoto’s 20th anniversary, and he earned his stripes tonight.  At one point he was taking punches so stiff that his head shook with each blow, with very little protection or pulling.  Okabayashi to me was the surprise of the match, looking really good and he’s quite underrated.  The Violent Giants (Shuji Ishikawa & Suwama) dished out the punishment very believably and went the extra mile in making the underdogs look good towards the end.
