Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Tetsuya Naito
June 11, 2017
Osaka Jo Hall in Osaka, Japan
More of a traditional heavyweight style match than the Takahashi-Kushida classic that took place before it, with more of an emphasis on selling the injured body parts (Tanahashi’s bad arm and Naito’s bad knee). The result was a very heated, excellent, major show caliber match that brought out the best in both men.
Neither guy held back in the slightest, though unlike the junior heavyweights, they picked their spots and made them more memorable because of it. Top notch psychology and of course fans were really into both personalities. These guys are as good as it gets.
