Katsuyori Shibata vs Bad Luck Fale
March 20, 2017
Aore Nagaoka in Nagaoka, Japan
NJPW New Japan Cup Finals
If you want to point out how New Japan has gone downhill this year (they have, but very slightly, and not entirely their fault), you can use Bad Luck Fale in the main event as an example. He took most of the match, which was good news because it meant he was losing. Still, the fans here had a deep, legit fear Fale might win. Because of that, they were extra hot for Katsuyori Shibata’s comebacks. He carried the match, and his work and the near falls made this quite good towards the end, and he did take a real beating in getting there that Fale helped look stiff (because it was).
