Kazuchika Okada vs Evil

October 9, 2017
Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan
NJPW King of Pro Wrestling
IWGP Heavyweight Championship

Long match, but never felt dull at any point.  You know it’s a good year when a **** match is considered “just okay.”

Evil was pretty stiff in this match, laying those baseball swings in thick with the chair.  Kazuchika Okada was good, making Evil an equal since nobody was buying the idea he’d win the IWGP title.  Okada was even booed at certain points because he’d play dirty.

The action outside the ring was good as well, with Okada doing his running dive over the barricade onto Evil.  Only this time, when Evil threw a chair at him, he ducked in mid sprint.  That was awesome.  Really good performance by both, and Red Shoes took a good ref bump as well (ref bumps never work in Japan, but it’s a broken record at this point).
