LIJ vs GOD vs Young Bucks (1-4-2019)

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Evil & Seiya Sanada) vs Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) vs Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

January 4, 2019
Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan
NJPW WrestleKingdom 13
IWGP Tag Team Championship

This match, while nothing out of the ordinary other than being very good, was notable because the Young Bucks lost clean.  This signaled their exit from New Japan, although time will tell if they’ll be back if an alliance can be formed between NJPW and AEW.

This was an all action tag team title bout, with LIJ going over and winning the belts.  Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa got the least amount of ring time for some reason, and the announcers were building up Seiya Sanada as a breakout star for 2019 (he better be, and he deserves it).  I miss his old hairstyle, though.

Matt Jackson took a couple hard bumps on his back on the ramp, and one day he will regret those.  The Bucks will be missed in Japan, and I really hope AEW and NJPW can work together.  Still, this was the right booking decision and this is the year for Sanada to break through.
