Lucha Underground “Cage in a Cage” (Season 2, Episode 14)
Lucha Underground Trios Championship

You’ll need to watch this match three times to let all the high spots truly sink in. This, along with Puma vs Johnny Mundo from the first season, was one of the two best matches in the short history of Lucha Underground.

I’m not really a fan of the Lucha Underground concept and the way they produce some of their television. And I will never be comfortable watching men vs women in a wrestling match in the manner they do it. With that said, this match will blow you away and I’d have no qualms if it won match of the year. It was a validation of everything the company stands for, even if you don’t like it.

Angelico was legit injured and ended up not wrestling in the match, but luckily everyone else looked fantastic and this was a classic. Mysterio was able to do relatively safe spots that still looked great and did minimal damage to his body. Puma, Havoc, Azteca, and Fenix were the real shining stars here, although really, everyone looked great.

The dives were out of this world, both early in the match when there were 11 people in the ring, and also later on as teams got eliminated. You really shouldn’t miss this match, so stop what you’re doing and cue it up.
